Quarter Horse Breeding Program

At Clay Ranch we strive to raise quarter horses with working and performance pedigrees, athletic ability, trainability, and good minds.  Since we start our own horses for use in work around the ranch and in competition, we try to raise something that is easy to get along with and has the talent and "heart" to get a job done.

Broodmares
We are very proud of the broodmare band that we have been building since 1992.  Most of our quarter horse mares carry the "DC" title in their registered names, indicating they were born and raised on Clay Ranch.  Others we have acquired based on pedigree, conformation and disposition—continually striving to make a good thing even better.

Breeding Stallions
Standing registered Quarter Horse stallions with proven bloodlines in a variety of disciplines including ranching, cowhorse, cutting, reining, racing, rodeo, etc. A Clay Ranch horse is a versatile horse.

Reference Stallions
Included here are pedigrees and photos highlighting past stallions as cornerstones in our breeding program. While some were with us for many years, and others taken away far too soon, these sires each made important impacts within our herds, and our lives. They are remembered by their presence in our saddle horses and broodmare band.
