Our Fertilizer
The beautiful thing about living on a ranch is that everything comes full circle. Everything has a place and a purpose on the ranch - each animal brings a unique quality, each grass variety brings different nutrients, each bug pollinates or helps decompose different matter. Everything has a job on Clay Ranch... including the manure!
For years, Colleen has used our naturally composted manure and organic matter to aid and improve the soil health in her lawn and gardens. The difference it has made? Absolutely incredible, and we want to help your yard too!
During the month of May, the ranch will be open on Sundays from 1:00pm-2:00pm for you to stop by and pick up your desired amount of compost. In the spirit of reducing, reusing and recycling, we will have pre-filled, reused feed bags available for quick pick-up. If you would like to reuse your own bag, pail or bucket, feel free to bring an empty one from home and fill it while you're here. If you think both of those options just won't be enough for your plans, be sure to drive the pick-up when you come and we will load your compost by tractor bucket directly into the truck bed for you!
Compost will be sold by weight for bags and pails at $1.50/lb. A flat rate of $60/tractor bucket is the rate for those choosing bulk purchase. We recommend a maximum of 2-3 bucket loads for a mid-sized truck (Ford F150) due to weight, not volume. We reserve the right to refuse to load if road safety is a concern.
Composted Ingredients:
*Please Note*
While the vast majority of seeds are destroyed during composting, some may survive. Our compost is free of soil but may contain the occasional rock or piece of twine from our barn yard. This is a very nutrient dense product and while we have used it for years on our land and garden, yours may have different needs. Please consider this and be sure to do your research before using this product.
